A consequence of self-serving, non-empathy of ethical action for the sake of environmental equity and justice

 FOREWORD

In a new international climate assessment published Aug. 9, 2021, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warns that the water cycle has been intensifying and will continue to intensify as the planet warms.

The report, which I worked on as a lead author, documents an increase in both wet extremes, including more intense rainfall over most regions, and dry extremes, including drying in the Mediterranean, southwestern Australia, southwestern South America, South Africa and western North America. It also shows that both wet and dry extremes will continue to increase with future warming.

Instead of 'financial literacy', there needs to be a higher consciousness of 'ethical literacy'. With ethical literacy an awareness of the intangible, subliminal, and anecdotal hints and clues the seemingly sentient physics of this biosphere is transmitting to our conscious senses. It's giving testament to the ever-upper-spiraling acceleration of cataclysms that will occur until the tangible sources that feed that upward spiral are minimized to the point of near nullification and obliteration.

Yes. If it takes the destruction of the structures of civilization and the enabling entities and creatures, the physics will do their predictable course of algorithmic,  'natural' design to establish that result.        

It wouldn't have to be this way if human ethics weren't so oriented to the trappings of having or the perceived deprivation of not-having the false species myth-based narratives of self-serving entitlement that is the common thread in all industrialized nations-races-ethnic groups and individuals.

All that would be needed is both the physic based, rhetorical maxim of 'Doing-absolutely universally-unto others [all entities], as you'd have done to you. This is NOT an exclusive social maxim, but a symbiotic-at the least-maxim of the physics of cooperation or destruction. This civilization has chosen the latter destructive course of selfish anti-symbiotic and is paying the figurative price and the material costs it refused to pay to prevent or ameliorate these consequences.

TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING insight and commentary

that exempted me from looking for it at this TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING insight and commentary on that quote..

'I-AM' [being facetiously and metaphysically mischievous] in partial agreement with 'shootersa's' thought, tho' it borders on the cynically skeptical.

What 'shooter' is implying, that I'm inferring, is like when you're solicited by a contractor who's been asked by you to give an estimate and he comes back with a figure that would have you doing installment payments for a decade or more, when your intuitive deduction had in mind a fraction of that estimate as your costs. That's an every day occurrence of a grander macro and societal feature in this society of intellectual dishonesty and corruption-OF WHICH I AGREE.

At the same time, much like the work that's begging to be done on your house, 'Climate Change' has as many blood-sucking parasites willing to be the providers of 'the best solution for you' as that seemingly greedy contractor. In this case, we're talking about the legislators as those salesmen. That Climate Change Bill coming from the designs of the Democrat leadership does suffer from the grandness-of-scope in non-consideration of the reality of the political resistance of its proposed form of administering to it. In this particular polarized, social and political climate the angst of existential distrust of one an others intentions and end goals aggravates even the perception to be had, as well as the intensity of those near-trench lines of perception and derived rhetoric that have been constructed as a consequence to that proposal.

IN THE MEANTIME... Me here and others elsewhere are posting the on-going adversity to those victims of the on-going weather extremes and the seeming 'moral sedition' [~wink~ at 'ImDown6969'] for ignoring or doing next to nothing in the short, let alone speculated long term crisis. Much like what the song, 'The Arkansas Traveler' speaks to:
There is latently within us the flight or fight instinct. In this case, until the "danger" becomes immanently sensed as dangerously close, we, just as in the wildlife documentaries seeing the prey grazing so sanguinely as the predators close in on them, relying on their natural gifts.

I posted before that possibly and likely when and if that cataclysmic event is upon us, the 'Brainiacs' that are away in their own speculations and meditations separate from the on-going social and cultural satiations of the 'maddening crowd' would have come up with separate pieces that would be the resolving solutions to the pending calamity that the disingenuous ownership of those who were more dismissive in the past of any solutions, but NOW in this crisis for which ameliorative resources suggested earlier were suspected to a cynical assurity, are now embrace in desperation to abort the decades long invited calamity to devour by death and destruction many who were politically without a leveraged platform to effectuate their hopes and desires.

(Before the notice of the involuntary economic nomads of 'Nomadland')

From August 1994 until November '99 I took advantage of the opportunity of having only myself to support to be a a nomad, 'the expression of my soul'. I did for aesthetic bias what the characters in the promotional previews for 'Nomadland' seem to be doing out of economic necessity. My tactics and strategies while being that nomad were similar to those in the movie: taking temporary, part-time gigs and off-shift jobs. My aesthetic bias, I think and believe was (and still is) a realization that the structure, as well as the availability, for work was a soul and dignity degrading experience. The adaptation and psychological accommodations, which I and others were obliged/extorted to do to 'make a living', undermined what I see as a celebration of this existence's life. 

Much as the verse in Genesis 3:17-19 when Adam-n-Eve were expelled from Eden:          "...¹⁹ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." that has been the rationale for the consensus of our work labors.

Like these latter-day 'Nomadland'-folks, in '94 there were gigs-jobs and temporary work for those with the capability or ready-skills to do them. For many, only a driver's license was required. Others, past education-informal, as well as formal-could get you a job.

In ways much like the migrating hunter-gatherers of the pre-neolithic times of settlements and the First Nation-Native Plains 'Americans', I and the cinema depicted nomads used the mobility we had to find better 'hunting and gathering' settings for ourselves as we 'lived off the land'-economy. I see that as an increasingly gestative cultural and societal option.

The economic forces of commoditization with their political enablers whose self-interests favor and are biased to those who can fund their political aspirations, will neglect to destitution those for whom the type of wealth needed to remain established in one place is more and more precarious to being out of reach with each passing year.

It would be ironic that this civilization, much as the classic civilizations, will be brought down by the migrating immigrants of economic necessity, plus the growing cohort of more aesthetic, communal anarchists who come to perceive the present economic order as inherently and inequitably corrupting. At the same time the precepts of the migration-ethos will be the default aesthetic for a more equitably and distributive civilization.
